Meet volunteer Kerstie

Volunteer Kerstie is new to Free Cakes for Kids Sheffield, pictured here with her first cake - a fantastic Batman cake for a little boy in the city. 29 year old Kerstie grew up in Bridlington and now lives in Beighton.

Kerstie said, "I've always dabbled in baking but only recently started taking cake decorating seriously. It's important to help children feel special on their birthday and I'm so happy to be able to contribute to that.

My favourite cake has to by my Nanna's walnut cake. The best birthday cake I had as a child was one my mum made - a pink Princess castle cake complete with ice cream cone towers for my 10th birthday. It was awesome."

In addition to baking, Kerstie is a fan of Mexican food, running and (too much) red wine.
