Success at the Food Festival

On Monday 30 May, Free Cakes Sheffield enjoyed a busy and successful day at the Sheffield Food Festival!

Thank you to everyone who came along to our cake stall at the Peace Gardens - we raised £580 by selling our delicious cakes, stylish merchandise and raffle tickets. Thank you to Hello Hot Tubs Sheffield, who kindly donated FREE hot tub hire for one lucky winner and to volunteer Laura Brechany who recreated the cake from our special 'Every child deserves a birthday cake' logo.

In the Winter Gardens, our gingerbread and cupcake decorating was a roaring success, with around 300 children taking part by decorating a variety of biscuits and cakes in some very creative styles! Even Kevin from BBC Radio Sheffield took part - decorating a gingerbread Paulette Edwards! Over £110 was donated by parents whose children took part.

All in, thanks to the generosity of the people of Sheffield and the time, effort, creativity and time put in by our wonderful volunteers, we raised £690 for Free Cakes for Kids Sheffield. This will cover our costs for around 18 months - a huge impact on our small community group.
